The "lost city" near Vivian would likely be part of the remnants of the oil boom that drove the economy there. At one point, the burg now known as Oil City boasted a redlight district called Reno Hill that was much larger than the infamous Shreveport redlight district in St. Paul's Bottoms. The dead cow in the old Carver School was probably just asleep. I grew up near there. Nothing haunted it but the occasional group of adolescents looking for a party/makeout spot and a few coyotes. There was no rumor of child-molesting janiotors until the school was falling down and looked haunted enough to need a story. That site will likely be haunted by the ghosts of the school board that voted to let that location deteriorate then got rid of it only to have the school system get robbed by scalpers selling property for a new school in that area when the town grew.

Does anybody remember an old run down hotel that was out by Cross Lake? We went there a few times when I was a teenager and partied but I can't remember exactly where it was. This place was very old when we went there and that was 20 years ago. Talk about one spooky place at night and then some said that the devil worshippers hung out there on certain nights. I dont know if it was haunted or anything like that but I bet it would be scary as hell still if a person were to go there at night. It was three buildings that were falling apart and one of the times we went out there some people had a fire going in one of the main rooms which worked out well because the roof had already caved in. It was somewhere on south lakeshore drive right across from the lake but it was hard to find then because it was just a dirt road that you had to drive on. Anyways, I was just wondering if there was anybody else that knows about that place and could help me remember where it was. It would be nice to take my kids out there for a good scare:)

Does anyone know of the house out near Golden Meadows in south part of Bossier City? I will get the exact address later. But the windows are all bricked up and the yard is immaculate at all times. But No sign of life in and out

Where is the Pea Farm Actually located? It is right beside the G.E. transformer plant at the corner of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and West 70th street in Shreveport (right down the road from Water Town if you know where that is). You cant see the Pea Farm from the road because the trees have grown up so much. The neighborhood there is not the best so take caution if you plan on leaving your car, also G.E. owns the property and they have a security guard 24 hours a day at the main gate that faces the Pea Farm (the guard shack does) so if you plan on jumping the fence make sure you stay away from that side of it.

Hey everyone, I was just sitting here thinking "What is the best way to sneak in to the pea farm?"
I thought I'd toss it here, seeing as some may have experience in the matter. Not that I think anyone HERE would break the law by trespassing.....that would be crazy, huh?
And before I forget... Has anyone every tried to organize a large group to visit these places?

i was ia Louisiana this last week and was invited to see some old prison in the middle of no place. it was about a half mile to maybe more into the woods. i am unsure where i was but we had to make sure no one saw us park into the woods. i dint know where i was can anyone tell me? i was in Shreveport Louisiana.
another q, i was in Shreveport in 1985 and i had a boyfriend who took me to this old abandoned home in a field in the middle of nothing but fields. it was white and he said it was a movie prop for the chainsaw massacre movie. where was that?

Ok. I've been to the school about 5 times this year and the last time I went the most stuff happened.
We got there at about 11:30pm. We parked on an abandoned road and used a gas can for a prop to make sure no one really knew why we were there. (Car ran out of gas..walking bit) We took the usual flashlights, water, camera. As soon as we cleared the fences we were about to start taking pics when we realized our camera's batteries were gone. I mean gone..Not low on power..but gone! I had just loaded everyone's camera with fresh batts and poof! We said screw that idea and began to walk thru the place like we had done before. The main places we go everytime are the gym, a couple class rooms, and the cafeteria. The cafeteria was in the same shape as always, along with the two rooms. The gym on the other hand was creepier than ever. We were all talking when a bell rang and kids talking could be heard. We began to smell smoke and the entire place looked as though flames were spreading..(A red glow). I've heard so many stories about this palce that I never believed any of it. The one I thought I believed was that the farmer that owned that place, he burned it down to keep people away...My self and 3 others scattered. We all ended back up at the car and we turned to look back at the school. We all swear to this day that the school had real flames coming form it again. Screams were all we could hear. Shadows were flying everywhere. We all loaded up and go tthe heck outta there. I refuse to go back!
Oh, and could y'all update some links? I'd love to see everyone's pics..

OK - I have lived in Shreveport Nearly all my life and here is the scoop on the haunted places - I have been to them all and know them all and all the myths/truths surrounding the legends - soo... here is what i know 1.) The ellerby road school is rumored to have been in functioning order back in the late 60's early 70's a janitor came up missing mysteriously at the school and some children went to look for him - well - the children came up missing too.... Thing is they never surfaced again - hence the closing of the school - since then there have been cultist and vandals have had their way with it painting satainistic grafitti all around the place and having seances as well - its rumored that severol visitors have seen the missing janitor and heard the missing children wisper in the coridoors. Yes its spooky and worth the trip - if you want to see a good picture of the school then download google earth and scan up and down the road till you see it - its there. 2.) the Texas chainsaw movie prop house - its actually in Greenwood - all i can say is if you want to see this one then you better hurry because extravagant neighborhoods are pooping up all around it and it sits on prime developmental property now directions are as follows- take I-20 to Greenwood exit where kellys truckstop is cross over interstate (to opposite side as kellys truckstop is on) - go west into downtown greenwood on hwy 80 and make a left onto 169 after you pass the church on the right - start looking to your left for a old two story house it will have alot of growth around it and will be behind a thin patch of trees but its there - if you pass Shirly francis road on your left then you went to far - turn around and start looking to your right - its actually easier to see from that direction. Anyhow you can see chainsaw marks in the walls and satainistic grafiti and you can rent the original TCSM Movie and recognise parts of the house - kinda kewl - saving the best for last is 3.) The OLD CCI PRISON - this is by far the coolest to see - and I mapped out the perfect intrance into the prison - instead of parking on west 70th street and risking getting your car broken into here is the plan and yes you will be breaking and intering as well as tresspassing (big deal - who cares) here are the instructions to get there unnoticed - only go in one car - too many is suspect. take I-20 to the bertkouns indutrial loop expressway - get off and head south on bertkouns -you will pass a trckstop and then a intersection where the GE plant is - the prison is just to the right of the GE plant on west 70 street in that patch of woods but your not going that way and getting busted - your gonna go through that intersection and keep going south a little further passin the GM plant then just as you make it by the plant take a right on julie francis road and go to .2 miles to the dead end - it will dead end at a pond - walk toward the pond then start heading to the right following the pond around and heading back northward what you are doing is avoiding all the factorys and GE as well - when you reach the tip ofthe pond keep heading north and you should be directly in line with the back of the prison - so much fun - nesesitys are flashlites(move under cover of darkness so you wont be spotted) a long knife or machetty(to cut back the vines from the entrance you chose silly)and some beer or water (- you will want to hydrate after your walk) - Now....rumor has it that in the 70's there was a flood in which many prisoners did drown in the lower parts of the prison - alot of them were saved but many perrished in the flood water - afterward the prison was deemed unsafe and closed down - as far as being hanted - well.... drowned murderers and rapists.... you tell me. Enjoy the hunt and the chicken flesh your gonna get.

ok - I forgot one more haunted site - the old haunted motel on cross lake - its also a good one....rumor has it that some murders happened here back in the 70's like norman bates in Psyco, the motel lost popularity and never recovered from the devistation. here are the directions to the motel take I-20 to interstate 2-20 head north toward cross lake and get off on Lakeshore dr. exit turn right and head toward the Nantucket appartments after passing the appartments make a left onto S Lakeshore Dr. then start looking to your left for a road leading up to a old abandoned motel if you start heading into some extravagant appartments and ritsy neighborhood you went too far - turn around and start looking to the right. - heebie jeebies psyco style - enjoy!
